DCR Peptos Velvet

Barn name: Velvet

Velvet was born on January 3rd 2022

This beautiful rose grey filly is out of GMB Slick N Tough, a grey mare with a lot of heart and grit.

Slick is trained in Barrels, Calf Roping, Cutting and was used as a Ranch Horse in Oklahoma. She has a huge stop, is fast, cowy and can turn on a dime. I bought her as a Yearling from an older Cowboy that showed and trained horses his whole life. Slick is one of the best horses he has raised.

I expect Velvet to be just as good as her Dam.

Her conformation is perfect for any discipline, with a pedigree to back it up.

She will measure a minimum of 14.2H when done growing.

UTD on shots, regularly dewormed, 5 week rotation with my farrier, current coggins.

Loads, stands tied, stands good for the farrier, knows fly spray, bathes. She already loves to work and is always ready for the job. Curious and very open minded.

DCR Athena Pepto

Barn name: Athena

Athena is a gorgeous (currently) red mare (she will be a red roan eventually, like all the other red Colts my Sire produced). She is lightly started and has a very good mind (she was more interested in getting scratches when we put the saddle on for the first time), making her easy to train. DCR Peptos Nell is a full sister to her.

Athena is already 14.2H and stocky, really nicely build. She is out of Sandys Wimpy Catalyst who is a daughter of Catalyst Playboy AQHA P-26 ROM NRHA $20,836, son of Taris Catalyst

DCR Peptos Nell

Barn name: Nell

Year born 2019

Nell is a 4 year old silver red roan with a great mind and athletic ability. Nell was started late, due to my move to Virginia last year. I started her last year in fall. She is easy to train and very personable - she loves attention and comes when called. She has been on trail rides, walk, trot, lope in the arena. She has a great stop and loves to work. She is an all-around great horse ready to go in any direction. All the Colts out of my Stud are cowy, athletic and good minded.

She rides in an english saddle or a western saddle, is a very smooth and easy ride and has a great lope. She is an amazing mare, she also has been handled by kids (with supervision of course) since she was a Yearling. She stands tied, also in a cross tie, bathes, good with fly spray, ponies, loves to play with the big horse balls. Loads, backs out of the trailer. She loves people and is very willing. She listens to voice commands when lunging and riding. I will post more videos and pictures.

Lindi

Warmblood/AQH

This is a very interesting mare, she will sure turn heads when she will get her final color (red roan).

She is out of my Hanovarian mare, who is a grand daughter of the Olympic Show Jumping Champion Stakkato and my Stud. She is very sweet and has a lot of potential. She has already jumped out of her pasture twice, showing her natural ability and determination. She will be a stunning silver red roan and measure 16H when fully grown. Don’t miss out on this amazing opportunity to own this surly talented mare.

UTD on shots, regularly dewormed, 5 week rotation with my farrier, current coggins, stands tied, leads very well, loads, good with fly spray.

DCR Peptos Princess

This is a beautiful and sweet Chocolate AQH Filly. Her Dam has an AQHA Performance Merit in Sorting and placed twice in the World Finals (Open Division 3rd place).

Princess is already showing a lot of heart, she will stand tied, lead, pick up her feet, bathe, and is good with fly spray, flymask and loading in the trailer. She is getting lightly started under saddle. Princess has great foundation bloodlines, with Doc O'Lena on the papers.

1970 NCHA Futurity Champion. NCHA LTE: $21,991.93.
A Leading Sire and Leading Maternal Grandsire NCHA Money Earners.
AQHA Hall Of Fame.
Sire Of Multiple NCHA Hall Of Fame.

Doc O`Lena was foaled in 1967, the offspring of Doc Bar and Poco Lena. He is one of only two horses in the American Quarter Horse Hall of Fame with both parents also inductees. He was bred & owned by Dr. and Mrs. Stephen F. Jensen of Paicines, California at the time of registration. The Jensens hoped to sell Doc O`Lena while still a yearling to Don Dodge, who had trained the colt`s dam, Poco Lena, but Dodge thought the colt was too small to train as a cutting horse. So instead, the Jensens decided to keep the colt and have Shorty Freeman come look at him to see if Freeman wanted to train the colt. However Freeman did not have an auspicious beginning, as the first time Freeman tried to ride the green broke yearling, Doc O`Lena ran away. However, Freeman decided to take Doc O`Lena on, and said of the horse: “I didn`t train Doc O`Lena anyway, he trained himself. I knew about 30 days after I got him that he was an exceptional horse... I always had to ride him last in the training program, `cause if I didn`t, I`d be mad at all the other horses in the barn. He was just that good.” Mr. Freeman talked one of his clients into going into partnership with him and buying Doc O`Lena from the Jensens in April 1970 for $15,000. That December, Doc O`Lena was NCHA Futurity Champion, winning $17,357 for his new owners. In all, Doc O`Lena earned $21,991.93 in NCHA earnings, along with an NCHA Certificate of Ability. Among Doc O`Lena`s offspring were Doc Athena, Sugar Olena, Lenas Peppy, Smart Little Lena, and Todaysmyluckyday. His son Montana Doc is a member of the NCHA Hall of Fame. Doc O`Lena was the first NCHA Futurity winner to sire a Futurity winner when Lenaette won the Futurity in 1975. His son Smart Little Lena was the first winner of the NCHA triple crown. And in 1978, Doc O`Lena himself was syndicated for $2.1 million, at that time a record for the cutting horse industry. Doc O`Lena was inducted into the AQHA Hall of Fame.
